A quick glance down at my outfit to make sure I’m decent and . . . slim fit jeans without stains and a black tee that says Let Me Be Perfectly Queer. Yep, this will be fine. With that thought, I stand up from my table, stretch my arms above my head, and head down the stairs to open the door.
No matter how confident I am about getting a roommate, absolutely nothing would have prepared me for the sight that greeted me when I opened the door.
Holy shit. Thank you, Baby Jesus.
Chance Arden is a gorgeous male specimen. If I had to wager a guess, I’d say he’s somewhere around six three. A gorgeous mop of wavy, dark brown hair rests on top of the most beautiful face I’ve ever seen on a man. Not quite a chiseled jaw; no, he’s got a more rounded face, covered in just-past-five o’clock scruff, and the clearest sea-blue eyes. I scan my eyes down from his face to the rest of his body; he’s muscular, but lean.
Maybe he’s a swimmer, I muse.
He’s wearing a blue and green gingham button up with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a pair of dark wash jeans, and navy-blue Chucks.
Wow.
Chance clears his throat. “Um. Hey. Are you Tyler?”
Apparently, my manners ended the second I opened the door. I can feel my cheeks heat slightly as I realize I’ve been standing here for a solid minute perusing this spectacular showing of the male form instead of speaking.
Get it together, Tyler. He’s probably straight. No—more importantly, he could be your new roommate. Do not hit on him.
“Yep, that’s me!” I say with way too much enthusiasm. “Come on in.”
I open the door wider and step off to the side to allow Chance to walk in further. I may or may not peruse his backside as he walks past me. I admit to nothing. But, god, it is just as spectacular as the front of him.
“I’m glad you could come by on such short notice. I’m eager to get my roommate situation squared away.”
“No problem. The weekends are typically off days for me, so this worked out fine.”
He seems nervous if his wringing hands are anything to go by. His voice, though, his voice is steady, deep, and has me fighting to control my dick’s insistence that it gets an opportunity to pop up and say hello.
