About the Author:

Hi, I’m Nazri, a Filipino-Malaysian author based in California. I’m trilingual, but I really only write in English. I can also speak just enough Sindarin and Valyrian to impress absolutely no one. My urban fantasy novels focus on heroes who use wits, style, and their wildly unpredictable magic to save the day. Think sass and class, while kicking ass.

My influences come from horror and fantasy: HP Lovecraft, Anne Rice, George R.R. Martin, Chuck Palahniuk, Terry Pratchett, and Neil Gaiman. Growing up I was shaped by the Blood Sword, Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf, and Grey Star game book universes. I’m also inspired by video games, specifically the Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and Persona series.

TL;DR: I’m a huge nerd. Follow me on Amazon and BookBub, or send me an email at nazri at nazrinoor dot com. I love hearing from readers, and I’m also really, really starved for attention. And yes, that’s my real hair. I try to donate it to the American Cancer Society as often as I can. Also, have you heard? You can get a free book right here.

Excerpt From Tracker Hacker:

After practice I had a secure message on my phone from Mom saying she and Joanna wanted to talk to me. Joanna and Mom? That was a weird combination. The message was from Mom, but I couldn’t remember a time they’d talked to me together. Even if I was working on a mission with Mom and Dad, Lorenzo usually did the tech briefing.

I hurriedly stripped off the top half of my pads, grabbed my phone from the locker, and went into the hallway. Looking around, I called Mom on her regular line so she could get Joanna and call me back.

“Theo, hi,” Mom said.

“I just got out of practice and saw the message.”

“Can I call you back? I’m in the middle of something here.”

“Sure can. I’ll keep the phone close.”

We hung up, and she immediately sent me a secure text telling me she’d get Joanna and call right back.

While I waited, I looked through my TOS email, and there was nothing out of the ordinary. They’d managed to talk to 223 agents of the nearly 400 who were off-grid. They continued the work to contact the others. Some were on leave, and that occasionally made them more difficult to reach. There were twenty-seven off-grid agents that were of concern.

The phone vibrated in my hand and I answered immediately.

“Winger. This is Red Hat.”

“Winger. This is Snowbird.”

“Hey.” I sounded upbeat as if I might be talking to a friend. “I’m just off the ice and not able to talk much but wanted to check in.”

“Understood,” Red Hat said. “Snowbird, I’ll let you take it from here.”

“Winger, we thought it was important to let you know some news sooner rather than later.” Her breath caught. Mom was upset. What happened? “Defender is missing.”

I slumped against the wall. My hand holding the phone dropped to my side and bounced off the cinder blocks. My legs threatened to buckle, but I managed to remain standing. I composed myself, walked farther away from the locker room to lessen the chance of someone hearing, and raised the phone again.

“Sorry.” My voice cracked in the middle of the word, making it sound like a whimper.

“It’s okay.” I’d never heard Joanna sound upset, which only made this worse. “He’s one of the agents that went off-grid last night in the takeover.”

“No,” I said softly.

Even when Dad was in trouble before, TOS had always known where he was. Now he was missing, and it was my fault. I hadn’t moved fast enough.

Theo Reese is just like any other seventeen-year-old—with one small exception.

This summer all he wants is to spend time with his boyfriend, Eddie, and work on his MIT research project. His parents have other plans.

An old friend needs the help of Theo’s family. Oliver Glenwood is an ’80s music star who runs his own label. His wife and his daughter, Sofia, now a chart topper herself, are the targets of kidnappers. Oliver hopes they can eliminate whoever is behind the threat.

When Theo uncovers an even more insidious plot, the covert agency the Reeses work for, Tactical Operational Support, swoops into action.

Song files have been modified to steal personal data from devices and emit a tone that drives listeners into a homicidal rage. Theo and his parents race against the clock to stop this mysterious enemy from releasing the music on an unsuspecting populace and causing worldwide chaos.

Just when Theo thinks the mission couldn’t be more complicated, Eddie shows up in New York looking to hang out with his boyfriend.

Excerpt:

It would be a few hours before everyone checked in and the ship launched, so maybe the crowds would stay away all afternoon. As promised, Kendra had a pitcher of margaritas and a big smile as she waved Lewis over. “Ooh, look at you,” he teased. “Hubba hubba.” Kendra laughed. “Hopefully there are single guys on this ship who think the same.” She wore a sexy royal blue one-piece swimsuit with wide openings all up the sides and a very low-cut front. “I can see a little under-boob and side-boob,” he told her, adjusting the towel she’d gotten him and sitting on the lounger to kick off his sandals. She lowered her sunglasses and winked at him. Then she picked up a strappy silver stiletto. “I’m working the whole sexy pool wear this week. Got a cute suit for each day.” A big guy with a hairy chest walked by and grinned at Kendra. “I don’t usually like one-pieces, but that suit is eye catching, ma’am,” the guy remarked, rubbernecking as he walked away. “I’d say it’s working,” Lewis said with approval. “A tad too hairy for me, but I’m not limiting my options.” Smiling wide, Kendra poured Lewis a margarita. “These are amazing.” “Thanks,” he said when she set the drink on his side of the small table between them. He admired the hairy guy’s big chest as he ordered a drink at the bar. Mmm-mmm, Lewis loved big men, especially if they came with a big dick. And all that hair to play with was just an added bonus. Pulling off his tank so he would tan evenly, Lewis laid back on the lounger and took in his surroundings. A man played a steel drum in the corner, lending the pool deck a delightfully tropical atmosphere. A dark-haired woman manned the bar, and she looked like she was doing a good job of entertaining the hairy guy and her other patrons. All around them people smiled. Like Kendra, he had high hopes for a wonderful vacation. “Did you download the ship’s app?” Kendra asked. “The travel agent said it’s a new feature.” “Yeah, I downloaded it this morning before we left home.” They lived a few hours north in St. Petersburg and had gotten up at the butt crack of dawn to arrive at the Port of Miami for early boarding. Kendra scrolled the app on her phone. “Looks like you can book all your excursions from here. Wanna go snorkeling?” “Is it in a chlorinated pool without sharks?” She chuckled and set her phone aside. “No, don’t think so.” “Then no.” He reached for his beach bag and withdrew his water bottle and book. “How’s the margarita?” “Oh!” Lewis picked up the drink. “I haven’t even tried it yet.” He took a healthy sip and was delighted by the flavor. “Damn, these are good.” “I know, right?” He took another sip, feeling the warm fingers of intoxication moving through his blood stream. Totally relaxed, he set the drink down and opened his book. “What are you reading?” Kendra wanted to know. “The Undead Apprentice by D.A. Noire.” He flashed her the cover depicting a sexy red-eyed vampire. “Skip’s friend Josh recommended it to him, and then Skip recommended it to me. It’s the perfect vacation read—a vampire romance.” Laughing, Kendra buried her pretty nose in the latest biography of some progressive politician. “You’re such a dork.” “I’m the dork? This from the dork reading a book about politics on vacation.” “I’m expanding my mind, Lewis.” “We’re on vacation. I’d rather expand my mind by reading a fantasy romance.” “Dork,” she sang, sipping her drink and turning the page. “Am not.” “Are too.” A buzzing phone ended the debate of who held the Biggest Dork title. Kendra glanced at her device. “The grooms are here. They started a group text.” Lewis groaned. “Ugh! I hate those. Especially when everyone starts liking everyone’s texts, then you just get more notifications. So annoying.” “It’ll be easier to keep everyone in the loop this way, Mr. Crab Ass.” He ignored her and clasped his hands to his chest dramatically. “I love group texts,” Lewis sang then snarked, “Said no one ever.” “True,” she agreed as the device in her hand buzzed multiple times. “But we’re in one.” “I’m glad my phone is on silent.” Lewis finished his margarita, then poured another. “What are they saying?” “Looks like Marcus is at the coffee shop with Aleek, and some ‘we’ I don’t know are in their cabin.” More phone buzzing as she scrolled through. “All the Singletons are still in line boarding. Another unknown number with someone named Jenny is stuck in traffic, but it’s fine, because the ship doesn’t depart for another two hours. And the grooms are headed to an appointment with their wedding coordinator. They look forward to seeing us all at eight for dinner with the captain.” Lewis set down his cocktail and opened his book. “All we need to know. Turn your damn buzzer off.” With a shrug, she flipped her phone to silent and tossed it in her bag. She turned her face into the sun. “We’ve got nothing to do but sit here, read, drink margaritas, and soak up the sun for the rest of the day.” “Sounds perfect,” he agreed. “You have sunblock on, right?” “Yes, Mr. Bossy Pants.” “Enough with the nicknames.” “But they do annoy you so,” she said wistfully. “Now, that I’ll agree with.” As promised, Noire’s excellent writing captivated Lewis within a few pages. Despite the title, Skip promised a romance between an ancient vampire named Danior the Devil and a college guy. A romance equaled a perfect vacation read. So much better than a boring book about politicians. Who wanted to read that? Not like anybody in government would write an honest tell-all about the crooked people in Washington or expose the Roswell aliens. So engrossed in the trials of Danior and his apprentice Christopher as they navigated life as college freshmen, Lewis barely noticed Kendra topping off his margarita. When she ordered a second pitcher, it dawned on him he was quite drunk. “This is some bullshit, Kendra.” “What?” “You got me drunk,” he complained, his voice slurring a bit. The deck spun and he couldn’t keep his eyes focused to read any longer. “We haven’t even left port!” Kendra laughed. “Take a nap and drink some water.” “Fine, but you better set a damn alarm so I don’t fall asleep and get burned.” Dutifully and with a smirk she pulled out her phone and began tapping. She showed him the screen with a timer counting down. “I set it for one hour. Honestly, Lewis, you can’t hold your liquor.” “I know that,” he whined. “You know that.” “Here, drink this and sleep for a bit,” she said again, holding out a bottle with a sympathetic smile. “I promise not to let you burn, and we won’t miss dinner.” Doing as she told him, he rolled onto his stomach—his favorite position to sleep. He took his tank top and another towel then bunched them into a pillow. He was already tired from getting up so early, and the alcohol made his head swim. He hoped it would run through his system before the boat started sailing and rocking. His spinning mind couldn’t handle sea sickness too. “I’ll just take a little nap,” he muttered, drifting off to sleep to the sound of his best friend’s laughter, beautiful island music, and thoughts of vampire lovers dancing through his mind … … … … midnight vespers had finished moments ago. Sleep might be the wisest choice for the few hours I had, but my secret friend in the orchard called. My feet flew over the grass, and I didn’t need a lantern to see, for I tread this ground daily. The secluded French monastery was the only home I recalled. Illness had taken my siblings and father. My mother had gifted me to the abbey when I’d been a mere child. Given another option, I wouldn’t have chosen to live in a monastery. I’d even run away once. After three frightening days, a great storm hit. Soaking wet and cold, I’d realized I had nowhere to go and nothing but the simple cloth on my back. So here I was again: a novice monk with nothing. Except my new secret. As I slipped into the shadows, my heart skipped with excitement and a thrill raced along my spine. The cool night air flitted up my robes, teasing my bare skin. I’d first heard the whispers a month ago. A gentle, sultry voice that told me to “come.” I ignored it in the beginning, imagining my fevers had returned with hallucinations. Though only nineteen summers old, abdominal pain and nausea had plagued me for years. Perhaps I should’ve confessed to Abbot Charles about the whispers, but my life was nothing but endless days of work I did not enjoy. I had lost everyone who cared for me, and had nothing to claim as my own. I enjoyed the intrigue of having a secret. Eventually the voice had convinced me to slip out in the darkness and meet him in the abbey’s orchard. What had transpired that first night had changed my life. And had me returning every chance I could. Wary of Brother George watching me—not with concern, but to tattle—I varied the times I slipped away so as not to be noticed. Brother George had taken my piety upon his shoulders since I’d run away, and it was a most unwelcome burden. “Liam, come to me.” The specter-like voice made my blood sing, and I all but ran toward the promise of pure, forbidden pleasure. When I’d managed to sneak out several nights ago, I’d left my woolen hose in my trunk, not wanting anything to hamper or delay the release my specter gave me. He’d been pleased, and his approval gave me greater happiness than I’d ever known. “I’ll never leave you,” he whispered. “You’ll be with me forever.” That promise alone had me pumping my legs faster.

Excerpt:

Casersis gave me a beautiful grin that made me want to take him inside and do naughty, dirty things to him. He must have seen my thoughts cross my face or felt it over our soulbond because his cheeks flushed scarlet, and he gave me the filthiest grin.

Yeah. We were going to have fun real soon.

“Get on with your practicing, my alpha,” he crooned. “I want what that look promised, but not until you’ve finished with all thirty shots.”

I had twenty-nine more bolts to go through, and I didn’t know if I could function after blowing through them all, especially since I was rushing, much to my omega’s amusement if his snickering was anything to go by while I hurriedly pulled back the bowstring and loaded another bolt.

I’d never run through that many bolts that fast before. It nearly killed my arms and hands, but I managed to get every single one of them into the target, and not in the forest. Which was great because it meant I didn’t have to waste time searching for the fucking things in the dense undergrowth.

“You did well,” Casersis said breathlessly. “Now, let’s go get your reward.”

Snorting, I stepped up to him and hooked the crossbow onto my belt. “You mean your reward for not molesting me while I was trying to practice?”

Casersis bit his lip.

“I thought so.”

Laughing, he pulled me to him, and I claimed his mouth like I owned it. But, then again, I might as well own it because I owned him as much as he owned me. And I was under no illusions that he owned me, body and soul. But I loved every minute of it.

As I kissed him, tongue and teeth and breathing each other’s foggy breaths, I kneaded his ass to make him squirm against me as I shoved a knee between his legs for him to grind on. God, I couldn’t get enough of him. His taste sent me into a hormonal tailspin. His scent made me want to devour him. And the feel of him rutting against me was so decadent that I just wanted to stand there for hours making out with my soulmate.

About the Author:

If there’s one thing Devon likes most, it’s chaos. She has a chaotic mind, messy house, and throws her characters into every calamitous situation possible. When she isn’t writing, she’s editing or formatting other authors’ works, building websites, creating graphics, reading, playing video games, or watching Fortnite streams on Twitch. She likes to stay busy. So yes. Chaos.

Starting in 2003, Devon turned her writing bug away from poetry and online role play in chat rooms to write her first novel. Yes, it was trash, but the process of learning to edit that piece of garbage spurred her to learn more and more. By 2013, she read an author by the name of Raythe Reign, and somehow, Raythe’s stories finally made all that learning in Devon’s mind click. She wrote her first semi-salable book in two weeks. The next in ten days, and by the beginning of 2014, had seven books written.

Were they all trash? No, but she’s in the process of rewriting them, and has already written one, turning Duty and Sacrifice into three books of a nine-book series, The God Jars Saga. Those three books were followed by more, and the last two books in the series will be published in the first quarter of 2019.

Born on a Navy base in Patuxent River, Maryland, Devon has traveled the world, living in Sigonella, Sicily for three years, and visiting many European countries before moving back to the states around the age of seven. She’s lived in Florida for sixteen years, Oklahoma for a year, and Pennsylvania for the rest. She graduated from surgical technology school near the top of her class in 2004, and uses her medical and worldly knowledge to enrich her books whenever possible. Being the worldly woman she is, and having spent most of her teens as a broody goth, Devon has four tattoos, nine piercings, loves techno, electronica, dubstep, and similar music genres, and has an incurable internet addiction.

She builds her own computers, can’t stand Mac-anything unless it’s to format books in Vellum, and purple and black are her favorite colors, though that can change to burgundy and gray depending on the day. Since she has bipolar disorder, PTSD, social anxiety disorder, general anxiety disorder, clinical depression, and has trouble leaving her house due to all that, Devon works full time as an author and editor, and spends as much time as she can talking to other authors and her readers.

It Might Be Hot Cover

Suntastic Fun, Book 1

After another disappointing breakup, Lachlan is tired of dating all the wrong women. Even though he’s straight, his curiosity starts to get the better of him. What would it be like to be with his gay best friend, Alessandro?

 Lachlan

I’m sick of wasting my time with women who love my money more than me. The only person who has ever cared about me and not my fortune is my flirtatious best friend, Alessandro. We always joke about me switching teams when I get bored with being straight, but lately, I’ve stopped laughing it off and started considering it as a very tempting possibility.

After breaking up with another gold-digging girlfriend, why shouldn’t I cheer myself up by having a little sexy fun with Alessandro? After all, it might be hot, right?

Alessandro

I’ve always had to joke about my attraction to Lachlan because I know he’ll never take my feelings seriously when he’s straight. But he shockingly asks me to show him what he’s been missing by only being with women. This is my big chance to convince him that there could be more between us than just friendship. How can I say no if it will make my dreams come true?

If he wants me to show him a good time, I’m more than happy to teach him a lesson about why I can be more to him than the women who don’t deserve him. But can I make him fall in love with me for real?

It Might Be Hot is the first book in the Suntastic Fun duet. This novella features a friends to lovers, bisexual awakening, no angst romance. If you love cute sweetness, sexy fun, and scorching-hot banter that will make you laugh and swoon, you’ll adore this satisfying HEA without cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed in order.

It Might Be Hot was originally published as Like It’s Hot for the Red Hot Summer M/M giveaway. A new epilogue has been added for publication.

Excerpt:

Chapter 1: Alessandro

“You think I couldn’t land a hot guy?” Lachlan asked in an offended tone.

“Oh, you could have any man you wanted.” Baxley’s comment made my envy spark like a live wire. “But if you plan to date the male equivalent of your normal girlfriends, do us all a favor by never switching teams.”

Callahan burst into laughter, but I didn’t have it in my heart to join in. Instead, I took one last shot. I swam over to Lachlan and ran my hand up his shin and over his knee to rest where his white trunks started. My touch made him shiver despite the warm summer day. “You’d be much better off taking me up on my offer to take care of you.”

“For once in your life, please make a good decision, Lachlan,” Baxley teased him. “Let Alessandro show you why you shouldn’t spend another moment wishing what’s-her-name comes back.”

To my surprise, Lachlan seemed to be considering my proposition. I could see myself reflected in his mirror-finished sunglasses as he looked at me. “What’s in it for you?”

Making all of my dreams come true. However, there wasn’t a chance in hell I was about to admit that out loud. Instead, I chose a more playful retort. “A guaranteed good time for both of us.”

“Yeah, but you don’t actually want to suck my dick…do you?”

“Holy shit, he’s thinking about it!” Callahan exclaimed through laughter.

“Clearly, we’ve underestimated how desperate his dick is to find a willing hole.” Baxley snorted, earning him another kick of water in his direction.

Unable to resist, I slid my hand up the inside of Lachlan’s swimming trunks to refocus his attention on me. He startled as his thigh tensed under my touch. I gave him my best attempt at a seductive look. “All you have to do is say, ‘Please,’ and I’ll show you pleasures you’ve never imagined.”

“Yeah, right.” He scoffed, but I heard the uncertainty underlying his tone. “You’re just joking like you always do.”

“No, he’s definitely serious,” Callahan disagreed with a laugh. “You should take him up on it after all these years. Maybe you’ll learn something about yourself.”

Since Callahan was the only other straight one amongst us, Lachlan asked his opinion. “Would you let Alessandro suck your dick?”

It surprised me he didn’t need to think about his answer. “Mouths don’t have gender, so sure, why not?”

Lachlan’s jaw dropped in shock. “Seriously?”

“What’s the big deal? He doesn’t have to be in love with me to suck my dick. It’d just be a friend helping a friend. I’d probably even jerk him off afterward as a thank-you.”

Baxley swam up behind Callahan and embraced him. “If you’re open to other offers, Alessandro isn’t the only one here who’s interested in cocks.”

“I’m almost horny enough to say fuck it, let’s do a circle jerk, so don’t push it, Bax,” Callahan joked as he swam out of his friend’s grasp. “I know I’ve been single for too long when you’re somewhat tempting.”

Baxley’s blue eyes lit up with delight. He had been interested in Callahan from the first moment I introduced them two years ago, but our straight friend seemed oblivious to that fact.

Returning my attention to Lachlan, I stroked his thigh, sending a shudder through him. “So, what do you say?”

All Saints Security Series, Book 3

Aaron Laughlin is young, rich, and a star among the Nashville political elite. That’s why nobody is more surprised than him when he ends up abandoned at the altar. But here he is, dumped on the most important day of his life, embarrassed in front of his entire city, and left with a bruised ego in place of a broken heart.

Needing time away to regroup after the fiasco that could very well derail his career, he decides to head to the mountains and enjoy his honeymoon on his own. Only, he isn’t alone. His imposing new bodyguard refuses to let Aaron out of his sight, or his reach, and the way his dark eyes follow Aaron’s every move gets under his skin in a way he can’t shake, and isn’t sure he wants to.

Isaac Chinn is practical, professional and takes pride in being good at his job. He’s never even considered breaching the client/bodyguard boundary, which is why being stuck on the side of a mountain with the gorgeous jilted groom that isn’t quite as straight as he’d like people to think, is such an imposition. The mayor might annoy and intrigue him in equal measure but Isaac knows better than to cross the line.

Only, the heat that flares between them refuses to be ignored. They’re like gasoline and a match, destined to consume each other if they get too close. But when faced with the cold of loneliness, is it worth the risk to feel the heat of passion, even if it might destroy them both?

Special Cover Reveal Excerpt:

“Mr. Mayor?” Isaac spoke quietly and when he got no response, he cleared his throat. “Aaron. Aaron, wait. What’s happening?”

“The wedding is canceled.” He ground out through clenched teeth, still not slowing his steps.

“I… but…” Isaac seemed taken aback by the simple statement but he quickly caught back up. “Where are you going?”

“I have to find the Senator and tell him what’s happening. I have to get Ashtyn’s mother for her. Then I have to deal with the guests and the wedding coordinator and the…”

“No.” Isaac grabbed him by the arm and pulled hard enough that Aaron was forced to stop walking mid-stride.

“Excuse me?”

“I said no.” Isaac tilted his chin up when Aaron glared at him, not bothering to hold back his temper any longer.

“And since when do you get to order me around?”

Isaac narrowed his eyes at the condescending question, “I’m not trying to order you around, Aaron. I’m just trying to get you to slow down and think this through. You can’t go stomping into the chapel and announce the wedding is off in this kind of mood. It won’t look good and you’ll regret it.”

“What other option do I have?” He snapped.

“You let me sneak you out the back. We take a car and get out of here before anyone realizes you’re gone. Nobody sees how upset you are. The media won’t get anything they can use against you in the press. That’s your other option.”

Aaron narrowed his eyes skeptically, “What about everything else? What about the vendors and the payments? What about the guests? Who’s going to handle them?”

“My job is to protect you. You’re my priority. But I’ll make sure my guys handle everything else so you don’t have to. I promise.”

Aaron wasn’t sure why those two simple words got to him so much but they did. It had been a long time since anyone had made him a promise and then delivered. But something told him that Isaac Chinn wasn’t the kind of man to go back on his word.

SuddenlyBeck-f

Belong to Me, Book 1

A surprisingly sweet, sinfully sexy, and deliciously funny romp along the Cornish coast.

Nathan Elliott has run away from home at the age of twenty-six. His teenage rebellion may have come ten years late, but better late than never. Leaving behind a world of wealth and privilege, and a strict patriarchal family that would never except a gay son, he’s ready to embrace life and make up for lost time, but nothing’s ever that simple. A coin toss, a delayed train, and a wrong bus later, and Nat finds himself in a small bay in Cornwall being hauled out of the ocean by a gorgeous stranger and wondering how the hell his life got so off track.

Beck Ainsley lives life by a very simple ethos, don’t get attached, don’t get involved and don’t fall in love. He’s been there, done that and got the t-shirt that reads I’m a gullible idiot. Now, he keeps his life simple; all he needs is his dog, his art, his rambling sea cottage overlooking the bay and a few choice waves to surf. He’s not looking for love or commitment, but when he ends up plucking a posh boy from London with incredible blue eyes from the ocean, Cupid doesn’t just shoot him with an arrow, he clubs him senseless with the bow too.

One simple agreement. A summer fling, a chance to act on the insane attraction between them with no strings attached, and at the end of the summer they walk away.
There’s just one problem, fate is a fickle and capricious creature, and she has no intention of letting them walk away unscathed. They’re about to discover that sometimes the heart wants, what the heart wants…

From author Wendy Saunders writing as Vawn Cassidy, comes this hot and sweet, first time, MM romance that will leave you laughing out loud and singed from the heat…

Excerpt:

I knock again, and after a moment the door opens, and I almost swallow my tongue. Nat is standing there in all his warm, sleepy glory. His olive skin flushed, his wild dark curls rioting all over the place and wearing nothing but a very… very thin pair of sleeping shorts. I swallow slowly, my mouth is actually watering, and I almost reach up to see if I’m drooling.

      Just friends…. Just friends… I chant silently.

He blinks slowly, as if he isn’t quite awake enough to focus.

‘Beck?’ he murmurs, and his voice, hoarse from sleep, shoots straight to my balls. He blinks again in confusion. ‘Am I having that dream again?’ he wonders aloud. ‘If I am, where’s your moustache, and why aren’t you fixing the plumbing?’

I snort out loud, and it breaks the tension.

His head tilts as he studies me. ‘What are you doing here?’ He glances back into his room, presumably to look at a clock and scowls. ‘At five thirty in the morning?’

‘The break is perfect this morning, so I thought we could catch some waves.’ I smile.

‘At five thirty in the morning?’ he repeats slowly, and I nod. ‘Are you fucking kidding me?’ he says dryly.

‘Nope,’ I pop my lips on the word and grin again.

‘Urgh,’ he grunts in disgust and turns back into the room.

I reach out and slap my hand against the door before it slams in my face and follow him in curiously. He crosses the room and crawls back into bed, flopping down on his stomach like a starfish with his face buried in the pillows and gifting me with a gorgeous view of his round peachy arse.

‘Go away and come back at a more civilized hour,’ he mumbles incoherently into the pillow.

‘Come on, Nat.’ I smile widely as I throw the curtains open and let in the pale rays of dawn.

He grunts again as he grabs a pillow and shoves it over his head.

‘Besides,’ I say brightly. ‘The farmers market is on at the Killacourt, and we need to source some new suppliers for the restaurant.’

‘Then come back and get me in four hours,’ comes the muffled reply from beneath the pillow.

I cross the room slowly, unable to hide how much he delights me, even all sleepy and grumpy. I drop down on my haunches beside the bed.

‘I’ll buy you a coffee,’ I croon in a low teasing voice.

For a moment there’s silence, then the pillow shifts, and his face slowly peeks out, locking those starling baby blues on me, which are framed with sooty black lashes. I’ve never seen him unshaven, but now he has a sexy dark stubble gracing his jaw that I’d love to trace the pads of my fingers over before brushing those soft, bee stung lips.

‘What sort of coffee?’ He pouts in reluctant interest.

‘Only the best for you, Nat.’ I smile slowly. ‘Hand roasted, freshly ground and as dark and bitter as the pits of hell.’

Blank and Blue, Book 2

Levi Black has mostly recovered from the events of a year ago. The only lingering effects are that he’s much more well known in York than he’d like to be, and he’s a lot more cautious about walking around his house naked. However, those events brought him the capricious and fascinating Blue, so he’s not complaining. On the contrary, he’s happy, in love, and looking forward to Blue finally moving in with him. And if sometimes he wonders what Blue sees in a boring cartoonist, he keeps that to himself.

Blue Billings is finally ready to throw off the memories of his past and move in with the person who means the most in the world to him. His psychic abilities have grown in the last year to his mentor Tom’s consternation, but Blue is determined to look on the bright side. He’s also focused on ignoring all the warning signs that he’s received lately.

However, even deeply buried secrets have a way of rising to the surface. And when a surprise from Blue’s past turns up and draws them away to a lonely house on the Yorkshire moors, Levi and Blue must fight for their survival once again.

From bestselling author, Lily Morton, comes the second book in the Black and Blue series. The books should be read in order.

Excerpt:

It’s ten in the morning before I remember the old man from last night. I’m unpacking a new box of books, sitting cross-legged on the floor in the book shop surrounded by stacks of books and bubble wrap, while Tom sits at the counter clutching his ever-present cup of tea with his face screwed up into grumpy lines.

“I’m just saying that you’re opening yourself up too much, Blue.”

“That’s never been a complaint before,” I say lightly, grinning up at him as he rolls his eyes.

“Lovely as this glimpse is into your private affairs, I must move you on.”

“Private affairs? I’m not Prince Charles.”

“And that’s a shame. That lad talks to plants. You struggle with humans.”

I shake my head. “I’m pretty sure that comment wasn’t meant for me. Know yourself.”

“I’m very good with humans.”

“What about yesterday?” I say, putting down my scissors and staring at him. “I’m pretty sure it was you who told the lady asking if we took cash that you weren’t the Bank of England.”

“You’ve been dreaming again.”

I roll my eyes. “If I’m dreaming about you, I definitely need to get some professional help.”

He huffs and helps himself to another biscuit from the Incredible Disappearing Biscuit Tin. I don’t know where the fuck he hides that thing. One minute he’s chomping down on a Hob Nob, then I come to take a biscuit, and it’s gone. Vanished.

I eye him affectionately. This crotchety old man is one of the most important people in my life. I’ve known him since I was a scrawny, scared kid who hitchhiked my way to York and never left, pinned here by a sense that I’d found my place. Tom never asked questions, just fed me and then later on when he revealed himself to be psychic too, he became my mentor. Sort of like Alec Guinness as Ben Kenobi, but with very poor people skills. Tom and my best friend, Will, are only topped by Levi. No one will ever shift Levi from heading the list of my most favourite people in the world.

CR Playing Offside Teaser 1

Special Cover Reveal Excerpt:

I was a strong man. But right now, I definitely wasn’t made of ice.

And it would have taken someone with a stronger willpower than Gandhi not to check out a half-naked Tyler Bannings standing a few feet away. All that golden skin lying over perfectly sculpted muscle. I swallowed. Hard.

“Like what you see?” He smirked.

Fuck. It looked like the direction of my attention had not escaped his notice.

I managed to stop my cheeks from igniting. I raised my gaze to stare straight at him. He was still smirking, and I had an overwhelming urge to wipe that smug grin off his face.

“Yeah, I do, actually.” The words were out of my mouth without me stopping to think through the consequences.

His smile dropped. “Wait, what?”

Now was the time to backtrack and turn this into a joke. But part of me liked the fact I had the cocky bastard flummoxed. I could always claim the joke later.

“I said I do like what I see.” My voice came out husky.

His Adam’s apple bobbed. “You’re shitting me, right? You’re just messing with my head?”

He’d started breathing harder, his chest rising and falling as he watched me. My smart-ass teammate was the most freaked out I’d ever seen him. Even more freaked out than when he thought the New Zealand coach disapproved of him.

And that caused anger to flash through me.

I quirked an eyebrow. “What? I thought you’re this enlightened, woke generation. You’re not going to tell me you’re homophobic, are you?”

His eyes narrowed. “You are messing with me.”

I shrugged. “If that’s what you want to believe.”

He licked his lips. I couldn’t help my gaze dropping to his mouth. When I looked back up, his eyes had heated.

Holy shit, maybe I’d read this situation wrong. He couldn’t be, could he?

Bannings stepped toward me, his dark eyes not leaving my face.

NEW Whatever He Needs

Cover Reveal & Giveaway:
Whatever He Needs
By Mia Kerick

CHOSEN FINAL COVER WHN

Coming August 24th

When both lovers have daddy issues, it gets complicated.

Heir to the McAllister Construction fortune, Liam is focused on maintaining the myth that he is exactly the son his father wants. When he falls for Dimmy, a heavily inked go-go dancer, he fears revealing the romance, certain it won’t go over well with his upper-crust family—especially his father, who seems obsessed with building a family legacy.
Dimmy’s father, Gregory, is bent on making Dimmy earn his keep by any means, no matter how unsavory. He puts his barely legal son to work dancing provocatively at the seedy bar he runs and finds Dimmy work on the side providing masseuse services—and more—to club clientele. Gregory has Dimmy twisted into believing he can do no better, and Dimmy does it all in hopes of a pat on the back from dad.

Though Liam is but a few years older, Dimmy sees him as a man who might take care of him as his callous father never has, and reluctantly lets his guard down. But Liam, though he’s falling hard and fast for Dimmy, still hides his blossoming relationship from his family. A crisis ensues when a clash between the two fathers’ business interests puts Dimmy at serious risk.

When the right side of the tracks meets the oh-so-very wrong side, will Liam set his priorities straight in time to keep Dimmy from harm, or will fear shatter their lives?
Trigger warning: Whatever He Needs includes instances of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and kidnapping.

Special Cover Reveal Excerpt:

“Ogle him all you like, Mr. Ivy League, but Dimmy’s strictly pay-for-play, and Gregory’s saving his ass for top dollar.” The bartender nods at the go-go boy I’ve been gawking at since I sat down. “How about a drink to replace some of that drool?”

I manage to drag my gaze from the sensual bar entertainment. “Huh?”

The bartender, a multiply pierced woman with a platinum-blonde afro and a smoker’s voice, rolls her eyes and grunts. “All I’m saying is, if I were in your penny loafers, I’d keep my distance.”

Plainly stated and delivered without too much drama, she’s managed to both shock me and warn me away from nosing around the sexy club dancer.

To be honest, I can’t believe I’ve sunk so low. In college we called places like this “dives.” We ridiculed the hell out of them while guzzling plenty of their tepid beer. Since graduation a couple of months ago, I haven’t spent much time hanging out in dives, but here I (less than proudly) am at All the Feels Lounge—quite aptly named, as the guys on the dance floor are literally all over each other. I’m here for a reason, even if I’m not proud of it: I’m too fucking lonely for words. I want to be with someone tonight.

But I’ve been distracted from my lusty goal by scenery…of the provocative performance variety. In particular, the barely legal go-go boy, apparently named Dimmy, who’s gyrating his unnaturally flexible body on top of a glowing lime green cube set up dead center of the dimly lit, jam-packed dance floor.

At the moment, he’s dancing—if you can call it that—to a smoky ’80s tune about the singer’s desire to be his lover’s father figure. A song with personal significance, thanks to my own daddy issues. Which my respectable, successful, and remarkably satisfied-with-his-perfect-life father has no clue about. Long story.

About the Author:

Award-winning gay romance author and mother of four, Mia Kerick, knows that a satisfying romance novel is riddled with challenges. For true love to prevail, the leading men are going to have to put in some effort. But the HEA is oh-so rewarding.

From Jane Eyre’s Mr. Rochester to Brokeback Mountain’s Ennis and Jack, Mia has a great affinity for the tortured hero in literature. Her contemporary gay romance focuses on such steamy tropes as hurt/comfort, forbidden love, and enemies/friends to lovers. She firmly believes that sometimes you have to break his heart to save him. In Kerick’s books, the course of true love truly never does run smooth.

Mia’s books have been featured in Kirkus Reviews magazine. They have won a 2019 IPPY GOLD award for Juvenile/Young Adult Fiction, a 2018 YA GOLD MOONBEAM Children’s Book Award, a YA Readers’ Favorite Award, several Gold Rainbow Awards in YA and adult categories, a Reader Views’ Book by Book Publicity Literary Award, the Jack Eadon Award for Best Book in Contemporary Drama, a YA Indie Fab Award, a First Place Royal Dragonfly Award for Cultural Diversity, a First Place Story Monsters Purple Dragonfly Award, and more. Mia cheers for each and every victory made in the name of human rights. Her only major regret: never having taken typing or computer class in school, destining her to a life consumed with two-fingered pecking and constant prayer to the Gods of Technology.
